All our scarfs are naturally dyed and handwoven by Nandar and her team in Amarapura, Mandalay.
The fabric is a mix of long and short-staple cotton, and the yarn is both hand and machine-spun. The scarfs come in five different tones: baby blue, light green, nude, powder blue and natural colour.
The baby blue colour and darker shade of powder blue are both made out of the indigo dye. The more often the yarns are dipped in the dye, the darker the tone of colour. The green shade is extracted from the almond tree, and the nude colour comes from cherry barks.
All the scarfs combine the naturally dyed yarns with the natural cotton colour, which is the warp on the handlooms.
Slight variations of shading and dimensions are inherent in a handmade, unique item. WHOW thanks you for appreciating this.
