Why

[/vc_column_text][vc_separator type=”transparent” border_style=”” thickness=”1″ up=”7″ down=”0″][vc_column_text]The summer of 2015 was extremely hot in Mandalay. I was trying to find raw cotton shirts at the market, as I know this fabric is good to stay cool. However, I couldn’t find them, so I decided to start producing them myself. The idea to start a business making Myanmar made raw cotton clothing business was born. I choose the brand name KOLLIN from Cooling, and it is also the name of a town in Myanmar, so people could easily remember it. When I started producing, I had two options; to make natural dyed cotton shirts or chemical dyed cotton shirts. Natural dyes are obtained from renewable sources such as plants and fruits and are harnessed without imposing harm to the environment. Although I also sell some chemical dyed shirts, my personal preference is to use natural dyes.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/3″][vc_column_text]

With

[/vc_column_text][vc_separator type=”transparent” border_style=”” thickness=”1″ up=”7″ down=”0″][vc_column_text]I produce cotton clothes in a small town named Myittha. I gathered a sewing team from around the small town; we work closely together on the designs/ ideas. The two women leading the team, twins named Win & Lin, are very talented designers.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_column_text]

WHOW

From the beginning in 2017, I was involved with WHOW. I am happy to be part of the WHOW team. As the saying goes: “If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together.” Nilar and I decided to become business partners because we have the same ideas about making 100% Myanmar made products. With this partnership, we can share our thoughts and creativity.
